Job Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Ensure that all employees are engaged in the Safety 24/7 safety culture while leading a team of welders and machine operators at our Alexandria location.
  • Quality: Conduct inspections of components and enforce strict adherence to ISO quality protocols.
  • Workflow Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase efficiency
Other duties include
  • Ensure that all employees are wearing the proper PPE and adhere to the safety protocols of Standard Iron’s safety program.
  • Monitor work area setups to ensure they are ergonomically correct and minimize unnecessary movements.
  • Assist employees that are having quality issues by providing possible solutions toward resolution of problems.
  • Suggest improvements that demonstrate Continuous Improvement.
  • Participate/Lead DVM’s in their Department
  • Be courteous to others by treating them with the utmost respect.
  • Assist Supervisor with employee reviews.
  • Promote a sense of urgency and efficiency within the department.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications:
 
  • Ability to have 24/7 Safety Conversations when employees are preforming a safe or unsafe act.
  • Able to read complex blueprints
  • Able to perform second person signoffs in all work centers in their department.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
  • Must have good knowledge of equipment and its safe operation.
  • Good communications skills
  • 2-4 years of manufacturing experience
Reports To:  Production Supervisor
