Department: Pricing
Location: Hybrid (Hartford, WI, Grand Island, NE or Monticello, MN)
Reports to: Pricing Manager
OUR CORE VALUES: HOW WE WORK
Your role will be a direct expression of the principles that define Standard Iron:
  • Commitment to Customers: Ensuring accurate product data, routings, and inventory integrity so we can deliver on our promises with confidence.
  • Commitment to People: Building credibility across the organization—from the shop floor to the engineering suite—to establish trust and transparency.
  • Commitment to Action: Constructively challenging the status quo, resolving system gaps, and driving the process enhancements needed to keep us at our "A-game."

THE ROLE
The PIM Specialist is the architect of our manufacturing data. You aren't just "entering data"; you are ensuring that every part, routing, and Bill of Material (BOM) is a precise reflection of reality. By bridging the gap between Engineering, Purchasing, and the shop floor, you ensure our ERP system (Syteline) runs like a well-oiled machine. We need a detail-obsessed professional who understands that a single digit can make the difference between a perfect part and a costly error.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • ERP Data Stewardship: Own the lifecycle of product items within our ERP system. Create, validate, and maintain high-accuracy records for descriptions, pricing, drawings, and attributes.
  • The Blueprint for Production: Enter and audit product routings and Bills of Material. You are the final check to ensure our shop floor has the correct "map" to build excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the central hub between Engineering, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless product launches and updates.
  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with Quality and Engineering to lead material consolidation efforts and enhance work center efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting & Resolution: Proactively identify system discrepancies and workflow bottlenecks, solving them before they impact the customer.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Experience: 3–5 years of estimating experience specifically within metal fabrication is required. You must speak the language of manufacturing.
  • Systems Expertise: Proficiency with ERP systems is a must (experience with Syteline is a significant advantage).
  • Technical Knowledge: A solid grasp of manufacturing workflows, inventory management, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

THE IDEAL CHARACTER
  • The Perfectionist: You have an "eagle eye" for detail and believe that if a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing accurately.
  • The Problem Solver: You don’t just spot an error; you hunt down the root cause and fix the process.
  • The Juggler: You thrive in an environment where priorities shift and can manage multiple complex tasks without breaking a sweat.
  • The Communicator: You can translate technical data into clear information for everyone, from the welding bays to the executive office.
