Job Summary:
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure the highest degree of safety for all employees. This role also oversees new hire training in safety, quality, and Shop Floor Reports on the ShopVue terminal, as well as follow-up and re-training for existing employees who require additional instruction. The MN EHS Supervisor will be responsible for both MN plant locations – Alexandra and Sauk Centre.

Work Schedule: Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to train and support 2nd shift and weekend shift employees.
Wage Range: $70,000 - $95,000 DOE

I. New Hire & Ongoing Training
- Safety Training:
- Coordinate classroom training activities, utilizing video and PowerPoint tools, following the guidelines outlined in Form 2082, "New Hire Training Checklist."
- Conduct plant tours for new hires, highlighting required safety information and potential hazards.
- Educate employees on "Safety 24/7" to foster a strong understanding and commitment to Standard Iron's safety culture.
- Quality & ShopVue Training:
- Deliver new hire training on quality standards and the use of the ShopVue terminal for Shop Floor Reports.
- Provide follow-up and re-training as needed for current employees to ensure continued success in these areas.
- Incident Response:
- Facilitate near-hit and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Email the "Incident Group" with details of all reportable incidents within 24 hours.
- Safety Incentive Program:
- Manage the company's Safety Incentive Program.
- Review safety objectives and employee eligibility.
- Committee Participation:
- Act as a facilitator for Plant Safety Committees.
- Participate in Standard Iron’s monthly EHS steering meeting.
- Inspections & Compliance:
- Conduct regular safety walk-through inspections to evaluate workplace conditions and practices, implementing corrections or providing recommendations as needed.
- Lead monthly safety training sessions for all facility employees.
- Ensure both plants maintain full OSHA compliance.
- Safety Culture:
- Champion Standard Iron's safety culture and hold individuals accountable for adherence to safety protocols.
- Permitting & Reporting:
- Oversee the reporting and filing of various environmental permits, including:
- Hazardous Waste management reports
- Air Quality Option D permits
- SARA Tier II reporting
- EPCRA Section 314
- Stormwater permits (where required) or manage no-exposure exclusion status.
- Oversee the reporting and filing of various environmental permits, including:
- Product Impact Assessment:
- Review new Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and provide recommendations on how new products may impact existing permits.
- Compliance Audits:
- Conduct bi-monthly walk-throughs to evaluate environmental compliance and provide comprehensive reports to Plant Manager, and COO.
- Team Supervision:
- Supervise maintenance personnel.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM):
- Ensure the PM system is consistently followed and all maintenance records are up-to-date.
- External Services:
- Monitor and approve outside repair services up to $1,000. Services exceeding this amount require approval from the Plant Manager.

- Undertake diversified work assignments as required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in an Occupational Safety & Environmental Health position.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills are essential for effective interaction with personnel at all organizational levels.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a high level of technical expertise with the ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum safety levels.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and an understanding of HazMat/Right-to-Know regulations.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Equipment Proficiency: Proficient use of inspection equipment.
